Hormone optimisation for women

Do you sometimes feel more tired, emotional or notice your body changing? Maybe you’re a bit restless, irritable, or simply not quite yourself. Hormones often play a bigger role in this than you might realise. They shift throughout every stage of life around your period, after pregnancy, when coming off the pill, or during times of stress. And you don’t have to manage it all alone, it’s perfectly okay to ask for support.

At IKARIA Clinics, we take a close look at your hormones and support you with a personalised treatment plan, so you can feel back in control of your body, your mood and your energy.

Who can benefit from this treatment?

Hot flushes and night sweats, fatigue and mood swings, weight gain or fluid retention, reduced concentration and ‘brain fog’, lowered libido or vaginal dryness, trouble sleeping and heightened sensitivity to stress. Do these symptoms feel familiar? Then this programme could be just what you need.
This programme is designed for women who:
Experience recurring or severe symptoms around their period (PMS)
Are in the menopause or perimenopause and noticing the changes this brings to their body and wellbeing.
Simply feel that their body is a little ‘out of balance’ and want clarity and gentle solutions to help restore it.
Notice that tiredness, sleep problems or mood swings are starting to affect their daily life.
At IKARIA Clinics, we understand that a healthy hormone balance is essential for your wellbeing, energy and quality of life. That’s why we offer a personalised medical approach to restore balance and ease your symptoms.

What can you expect?

We start with a thorough blood test to map out your hormonal health and any deficiencies. This gives us a complete picture, so we can choose the approach that truly fits you.

From your results, we put together a personalised treatment plan, tailored to you, which may include:

Lifestyle guidance and support
Nutrition advice to support your blood sugar levels and oestrogen balance.
Exercise and strength training to keep your muscle mass and metabolism healthy.
Sleep optimisation and stress reduction, to help your body recover more effectively.

Hormone therapy & supplements
When lifestyle changes alone aren’t enough, we can support you by supplementing hormones and nutrients.

Follow up & guidance
Because hormones are constantly changing, we schedule a follow-up consultation after three months. Together, we review your progress and adjust the plan where needed. This way, we ensure lasting results, while you stay in control of your health.
Improved mood and balance
Feeling at ease in your body
More energy & vitality

How does the programme work?

Our approach in three simple steps.

1.

Introduction & blood test

We start by mapping out your health with an introduction consultation and blood tests. We look at your hormones, deficiencies, inflammation markers and other health factors that may be affecting your body.

2.

Tailored treatment plan

Based on the results, we create a personalised treatment plan. This may include a combination of supplements, targeted nutrition, medication and lifestyle advice. Not a standard programme, but tailored care that fits your body and your stage of life.

3.

Active guidance

In the weeks that follow, we actively guide you. You’ll be in touch with a doctor and consultants, receive interim check-ups, and we adjust where needed. This way, the treatment supports your overall health.

How long is the treatment?

Building a healthy body takes time, not quick fixes. At IKARIA Clinics, most treatment programmes last between six and twelve months – giving your body the chance it needs to recover and truly rebalance. Think of it as an investment in yourself. Together, we’ll create a programme that feels right for you.

Safety and possible side effects
Hormone therapy is a medical treatment and at IKARIA Clinics it is only prescribed and monitored by specialised doctors. We always begin with thorough blood tests and regularly review your values and symptoms. This way, we make sure your treatment is safe and well managed. As with any therapy, side effects can occur, such as tender breasts, mild mood changes or cycle irregularities. These are often temporary and settle once your body adjusts. If you do experience symptoms, we will immediately adapt the dosage or composition to suit you.

Our priority is that you feel better, in a way that is safe, effective and lasting.

What is included in the treatment?

At IKARIA Clinics you don’t just receive a treatment – you begin a complete care pathway. Everything starts with an introduction consultation and comprehensive blood test. This gives us a clear picture of your hormone balance, nutritional status, inflammation markers and other key factors.

Based on this, you’ll receive a personalised treatment plan tailored to your goals and needs. The plan may include advice on supplements, medication if needed, targeted nutrition and lifestyle adjustments. You’ll also be supported by a doctor and a consultant who monitor your progress and help you maintain the changes. In short: everything you need to get your health back on track.

Why is this programme beneficial?

At IKARIA Clinics, we look at the underlying causes. Our treatments are based on medical expertise and scientifically proven methods. We measure, analyse and treat in a targeted way, so your body can recover from the inside out. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every body is different and so is every recovery journey.

That makes our approach both sustainable and effective. Not a quick fix, but a fundamental improvement to your health, benefitting not just your hair, but your whole wellbeing.

What are the costs of this kind of treatment?

We always start with an intake and blood test, which costs €199. After that, we discuss which treatment plan suits you best. Follow-up consultations, coaching or hormone therapy are always agreed in advance. Supplements or medication are not included. In some cases, part of the costs can be reimbursed through your additional insurance. The fees depend on the intensity and duration of the programme. We are always transparent about costs, so you’ll never face unexpected surprises. The cost of the first appointment, the start of hormone therapy, is €295. This includes a body scan, advice and your prescription. Follow-up consultations are €150 per session.

Medication and laboratory tests are covered by most health insurers. Some supplementary insurance plans also provide partial reimbursement for consultations. You can check this with your insurer (Dr Ingrid Kuiper, BIG registration number: 19042361601). Consultations are not covered by the basic health insurance. Payment is required directly after your visit to the clinic. We accept debit or credit card.

Some parts of the programme may be partly reimbursed through additional insurance, such as consultations or blood tests. During the intake, we explain exactly what’s possible. You’re investing in your health, confidence and vitality and that’s worth it.

Frequently asked questions about hormone optimisation

Is this programme only for women going through the menopause??

No, absolutely not. A hormonal imbalance can happen at any age, from your thirties to well beyond the menopause. Think of PMS, mood swings around your period, fatigue, irritability or a low libido. Women who have recently stopped the pill, gone through pregnancy or are dealing with prolonged stress may also notice hormone-related symptoms. The menopause is just one of the stages when hormones shift. This programme is for all women who feel their hormones are out of balance, or who want more insight, even as a preventive step.

Can I combine this with other medication or treatments?

Yes. Our doctors tailor the treatment plan to your medical situation. If needed, we will consult with your GP or specialist.

Is this treatment covered by health insurance??

Most programmes at IKARIA Clinics are not covered by standard health insurance. Some parts, such as laboratory tests and medication, may be partly reimbursed through additional insurance, depending on your policy. In some cases, consultations are also partly covered. We recommend checking this with your insurer (doctor Ingrid Kuiper, BIG number: 19042361601).

When do I notice any results?

That depends on the individual. On your symptoms, hormone levels and overall health. Some women notice feeling clearer and more energetic within just a few weeks, especially when deficiencies are addressed or lifestyle changes are made. Hormonal processes do take time, as your body needs space to find its balance again. In most cases, you’ll notice the first improvements within 4 to 8 weeks, for example in sleep, mood or menstrual patterns. We guide you step by step and monitor your progress together.

Feeling out of balance? That’s a signal, not a weakness..

You don’t have to wait until it gets worse.
We help you gain clarity about what’s going on and how to regain control of your body. Expert, women-focused and fully personalised.
